Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Darren Tracey (“Start Padel”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Start Padel app for iPhone and Apple Watch and this website. By downloading, accessing or using Start Padel, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Start Padel.

2. Eligibility and minimum age

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Start Padel. Start Padel does not set a specific minimum age; if the law where you live requires a minimum age or parental consent to use apps like this, that requirement applies.

3. Licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Start Padel for your own personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

4. Your information and content

You are responsible for the information you enter or share, including player names, match details, notes and any content you import (for example Playtomic results or match files). You confirm that you are entitled to enter and share that information, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Review imported details before saving or resharing.

5. Start Padel Basic and Start Padel Pro

Start Padel is available as Start Padel Basic and Start Padel Pro. Basic includes core match scoring, Apple Watch scoring, past-match entry, rules tools and match sharing, with match history limited to five saved matches. Start Padel Pro adds unlimited match history, personal coaching plans, recommended training plans and practice sessions, and advanced progress analytics. The specific features included in each may change over time.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Start Padel Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Available subscription periods and current prices are shown in the App Store and inside the app.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
You can use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an active subscription on a device signed in with the original Apple ID.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s applicable policies. We do not process payments directly and generally cannot issue refunds ourselves.

7. Feature and device availability

We do not guarantee that every feature is available on every device. Feature availability may depend on your hardware, operating system version, permissions, language, locale, Apple Intelligence availability, HealthKit, the presence of a heart-rate source such as Apple Watch, Apple Watch connectivity, and the availability of third-party services. Some features rely on on-device processing that is only available on eligible devices.

8. Sporting, coaching and safety

Start Padel provides general information and practice guidance for padel. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a qualified coach or healthcare professional. Drills, training plans and coaching suggestions are general in nature and may not be suitable for your circumstances.

You are responsible for your own safety. Warm up appropriately, use suitable equipment, and stop activity if you feel pain or unwell, and seek appropriate professional advice. You take part in physical activity at your own risk.

9. Apple Health and fitness data

The Apple Health integration is optional and only operates after you turn it on and grant permission. With your permission, Start Padel saves completed matches and completed practice sessions to Apple Health. Apple Health has no padel workout type, so these are recorded as Tennis workouts, which is how they appear in the Health and Fitness apps.

Where a heart-rate source such as Apple Watch is available, Start Padel uses heart-rate and energy data from Apple Health to show effort and intensity. Start Padel is not a medical device. Heart rate, energy and any other fitness figures shown in the app are estimates produced by your Apple devices and other sources, are provided for general fitness information only, and must not be used to diagnose, treat, monitor or manage any medical condition. If you have any health concern, or a reading looks unusual, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

We do not control the accuracy or availability of the underlying sensors and data. Writing to Apple Health can fail or be delayed, so do not rely on Start Padel as your only record of an activity. Workouts already written to Apple Health are managed and deleted in the Health app.

10. On-device intelligence

On eligible devices, coaching, debrief analysis and rules guidance may be generated using Apple’s on-device foundation models. This processing runs on your device; your match data is not sent to us or to a cloud AI service to produce it. Where these features are unavailable, Start Padel falls back to its own curated training library and rule-based guidance.

Generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your circumstances. Treat it as guidance, review it before acting on it, and apply your own judgement together with a qualified coach where appropriate. Availability, quality and behaviour of these features depend on Apple’s platform and may change without notice.

11. Rules disclaimer

The rules referee provides general guidance and may cite rule provisions for reference. It can be wrong or incomplete, and rules vary by competition and organiser. Always verify official and competition-specific rules with the relevant organiser or governing body. Start Padel is not affiliated with the FIP or any governing body unless expressly stated.

12. No guarantee of outcomes

We do not guarantee any particular athletic improvement, coaching outcome, accuracy of rules guidance, or uninterrupted or error-free availability of the app or its features. Coaching and analytics are generated from the information available and are provided for guidance only.

13. Intellectual property

Start Padel, including its name, logo, software, design, text, drills and training content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. Content you create remains yours.

14. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Start Padel unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights.
Enter or share content you are not entitled to share.
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or related systems.
Reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent security or licensing controls, except where permitted by law.

15. Third-party services

Start Padel relies on third-party services, including Apple (App Store, payments, HealthKit, device connectivity and on-device intelligence), RevenueCat (subscription offerings and entitlement management), and, where you choose to import content, Playtomic content that you provide. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

16. Suspension or termination

You may stop using Start Padel at any time and remove the app. We may suspend or end your access, or discontinue features, where reasonably necessary, for example to comply with law, protect users, or address misuse. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability.

17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Start Padel is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Start Padel.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including certain rights you may have as a consumer. Where mandatory consumer-protection laws apply, your statutory rights are not affected.

18. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Start Padel after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
